Growing Together With the Sipi Community
From the very beginning, Lacam Lodge has believed that the heart of Sipi is its people. Years ago, we invested in education—supporting local children with school fees and encouraging them to work hard with the promise that, one day, they could become part of the Lacam family.
That investment bloomed into incredible stories.
One of those children is now a Member of Parliament. Another, Joel, joined the Uganda Wildlife Authority before returning home to build his own thriving coffee business in Sipi.
As the community grew, many wanted to share the beauty of their home. They trained as tour guides, learning to lead visitors through their favorite waterfalls, caves, trails, and coffee farms. Today, we work with over 10 local guides who came through this community-led model—and they’re the reason your stay at Lacam is full of adventure, culture, and unforgettable moments.
